During Linux Day 2013 in Lucca (Italy) was presented a possible application of Cosino to 3D printing making a single board with the printer RepRap I3 accessible via network!
By using OctoPrint and Cosino’s ethernet port it’s possible to extend normal 3D printing functionality:
- files with 3D objects con be sent to the printer over the network, and
- the printer can do its job without a connected running PC!
OctoPrint has been developed to run on small embedded devices so can be easily installed even within Cosino. OctoPrint is a a printing software written in python that allows users to manage their printers through a web interface.
You can find a dedicated page into OctoPrint’s wiki about how to configure your Cosino.
